The San Benito County Solidarity Network is excited to announce its official formation and launch as an immigration rapid response network, dedicated to providing critical support to immigrants in San Benito County who are impacted by ICE raids, detentions, and deportations. This volunteer-driven coalition is committed to ensuring that immigrants are treated with dignity and respect, while offering the resources and solidarity necessary to face the challenges of immigration enforcement. Some of the organizations actively participating in the network include: Step Forward Foundation, Youth Alliance, LULAC, Gavilan College, Lizett Rodriguez Attorney at Law, Community Solutions and other community leaders.

The network is focused on mobilizing quickly and effectively to document, resist, and prevent actions by ICE or other regressive forces that harm our community. Through this initiative, we aim to create a community of support, standing in solidarity with immigrants and their families, offering a space for direct action and response in times of crisis.

Mission and Vision
The San Benito County Solidarity Network’s mission is to provide accurate information, resources, and emergency support to individuals and families facing immigration enforcement or detention. We are committed to ensuring that no one faces these challenges alone. By building a resilient and compassionate community, we work to guarantee that all families—regardless of immigration status—can live free from fear, persecution, and harm.

How We Help
The San Benito County Solidarity Network offers a variety of essential services:

  • Emergency Response Hotline: A 24/7 hotline (831-204-8082) for immediate guidance and support for those impacted by immigration enforcement actions. This hotline is active and for emergency situations only, i.e. detentions, reporting, and immediate support. For resources, see email below.
  • Non-Emergency Resource Email: A dedicated email (info@sbcsolidaritynetwork.org) for ongoing legal resources, community events, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Community Observers: Volunteers trained to observe and document immigration enforcement actions, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Legal Support & Consultation: Connecting affected families with legal services and immigration attorneys.
  • Volunteer Opportunities: Engaging community members in direct actions, organizing, and providing ongoing support to families.

Volunteer Training
All volunteers with the San Benito County Solidarity Network undergo thorough training in Know Your Rights, Legal Observation/Documentation, and how to respond during enforcement actions—conducted by certified individuals and legal professionals. Our trained volunteers are prepared to provide crucial support, ensuring that the privacy and dignity of affected individuals are protected throughout the process.

Confidentiality and Integrity
To maintain the integrity of the network and protect the privacy of those we serve, confidentiality is central to our operations. We will not share any personal information about affected families, ensuring their situation remains safe and secure. In the event of a detention, the network will confirm the information and work closely with our community partners to inform the public while sharing only verified details about the detention, without compromising privacy or attorney-client privilege.

Collaboration with Regional Networks
The San Benito County Solidarity Network is proud to collaborate with neighboring rapid response networks, including the Santa Clara County Rapid Response Network, Monterey County Solidarity Network, and Your Allied Rapid Response (YARR) Santa Cruz. These partnerships allow us to share resources and information to strengthen our collective efforts across the state. We do not engage in advocacy but focus exclusively on informing, information dissemination and providing essential resources.
