Hollister Urgent Care, a multi-discipline medical clinic in its fifth month of operation, is now able to offer its patients affordable rapid and next morning diagnosis of the most common sexually transmitted diseases and other ailments as well.
Co-Founder Kimberly Hill explained that Hollister has a complex mix of patients, many with insurance and many without. Even those who have insurance may have high deductibles and co-pays, so having an affordable solution is important. Some individuals are unable to schedule with their primary care provider. Many do not have a local primary care provider and the emergency room is a very expensive substitute. We aim to bridge those gaps by offering rapid, affordable and confidential testing.
If a patient has symptoms that will need to be treated, Hollister Urgent Care offers in clinic treatment, in addition to faster test results. We will also dispense antibiotics commonly used for bacterial infection treatment, preserving patient dignity and confidentiality. Some people are simply entering into a new relationship and would like to ensure a clean bill of health.
The program works by a patient coming to the clinic, either as a walk-in or by appointment, and providing both urine and blood-by-finger stick samples. We get instant results for HIV and syphilis, at the time of visit. For chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomoniasis, and Mycoplasma genitalium, (M. gen [a new strain of infection affecting both men and women]), results are available the next day before 12 noon for patients in the clinic before 3:00 p.m.
