Ersilia Filice Aiello passed away on April 9, 2026 at age 94.
Ersilia was born September 18, 1931 in Piane Crati, Italy to Paul and Virginia Filice.
In 1954 she married her husband of 62 years, Alberto C. Aiello. In 1956 they traveled from Italy to Canada, where their first son Eugene was born. In 1961 the family moved from Canada to Hollister and their second son Anthony was born. In 1969 Alberto and Ersilia had twin girls, Stephanie and Paula.
Ersilia was a homemaker. She he enjoyed gardening, singing to Italian music and cooking. She was an exceptional cook and enjoyed cooking for family. She had signature dishes that included gnocchi and lasagna.
Ersilia is survived by her son Anthony, twin daughters Stephanie Grammatico and Paula Aiello, grandchildren Dominic, Mark, Noah and Cooper Aiello, Joseph, Gianna and Gino Grammatico and a newly born great grandchild Theodore, brother Guilio Filice and sister Maria Grimsley. Ersilia is preceded in death by her husband Alberto, son Eugene Aiello and her sister Josephine Borelli.
A mass of resurrection will be held on Tuesday, April 21 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, private burial at Calvary Cemetery.
A reception will follow at Paines’s Restaurant.
Donations are preferred to Sacred Heart School.
