A vehicle abandoned or parked for more than 72-hours on a public street violates the SBC Code of Ordinances and can be reported for removal.
An employee from the Hollister Police Department or San Benito County Sheriffs’ Office will respond to the report, and inspect and mark the vehicle for abatement. The owner of the vehicle has 72-hours to remove the vehicle before authorities remove and store the vehicle. A vehicle actively blocking a driveway can also be reported to police or sheriff for ticketing and removal.
If an unauthorized vehicle is parked in a private driveway or private property, the property owner can directly contact a towing company to remove the vehicle,
Such violations can be reported to the Hollister Police Department abandoned vehicle information line or the San Benito County Sheriffs Office non-emergency number.
