The Migrant Education Program of Southside School invites families of migrant status to attend a Health Fair on Wednesday, June 28. The event, which is open to families throughout the county will be held at the Migrant Housing Center, 3235 Southside Rd. in Hollister, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.Â
Children will have the opportunity to get dental, vision, and hearing screenings free of charge. Screenings will be provided by Foothill Community Health Center, which examines people at a low cost or those who have MediCal or no insurance at all. Free follow-up appointments will be given to those who qualify. Food will also be provided.Â
The Migrant Education Program and event organizers Irma Sanchez, Paula Bonilla and Elias Barocio thanked the following donors for making the event possible: Tony and Cathy Alameda, Bob and Tammy Erickson, Baler Market, Anthony Mojica, The Community Foundation for San Benito County, San Benito County Farm Bureau, Allison Rohnert, Tracy Taggart, and Safeway.
“With their help, some families that do not have the funds to visit a dentist or optometrist, which is routine for some, now have the opportunity,” Bonilla said.

El Programa de Educación para Migrantes de la escuela Southside invita a familias migrantes a asistir a una feria de salud el 28 de junio. El evento se llevará a cabo en el Campo San Benito, 3235 Southside Rd, Hollister, CA 95023, de 11:30 a.m. a 4 p.m.
Los niños tendrán la oportunidad de recibir exámenes dentales, de visión y revisión de los oidos de forma gratuita. Los servicios serán donados por Foothill Community Health Center, que examina a las personas a bajo costo o aquellos que tienen MediCal o ningún seguro en absoluto. Se darán citas gratuitas de seguimiento a aquellos que califiquen. También se proveerá comida.
