Hollister Little League’s 10U All-Stars are playing in the Section 5 Tournament final on July 21 in San Jose. The team is the District 9 champion and is 3-0 in the tournament so far.
The 10U All-Stars are the only team representing Hollister Little League still alive in all-star play. If the team wins tonight’s championship game, it will advance to the Northern California state tournament.
“We are very proud of these boys, who are representing Hollister Little League at the highest level,” the All-Stars coaching staff said in a statement. “No team has made it this far in more than 15 years. This group of boys has been working extremely hard, putting in the work every day to compete at the highest level and, hopefully, advance to the Northern California state tournament.”
The last Hollister Little League 10U team to advance to the state tournament did so in 2010.
Tonight’s coaching staff includes Kalev Bentancourt, Silas Quintero and AJ Moreno. The All-Stars roster features Rowan Rojas, Endrick Bentancourt, Kolton Laubach, Silas Quintero Jr., Rocco Rossi, Nixon Moreno, Jameson Kakebeen, Reece Sharp, Maddox Huerta, Chase Sutton, Aiden Medina and Ethan Zaragoza.
The 10U All-Stars will play at 5:30 p.m. at Bernal Intermediate School, 6610 San Ignacio Road, San Jose.
