Get ready for an afternoon of community fun, food, prizes, and activities! The City of Hollister invites residents and families to the Safe Streets Action Plan – Vision Zero Community Festival on Saturday, October 24, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hollister Veterans’ Memorial Building in downtown Hollister.

This free, family-friendly festival is funded by a federal grant the City of Hollister received in 2023. This grant helps us study local roads and intersections so we can create a plan to prevent traffic deaths and serious injuries.

The event will feature free lunch for the first 200 attendees, a free raffle with exciting giveaway items, and free face painting. Raffle prizes will include T-shirts, bike helmets, gift baskets, and more. With activities for all ages, the event offers a fun way for the community to come together while learning how to make Hollister’s streets safer for everyone.

This community event is required by the federal grant, which also funds the City of Hollister’s Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Vision Zero Action Plan. The initiative focuses on preventing traffic fatalities and serious injuries and improving safety for everyone who travels through the community.

The public is encouraged to stop by, enjoy the festivities, share their ideas, and learn more about how they can help shape the future of transportation safety in Hollister. Whether walking, biking, e-biking, or driving, everyone has a role to play in creating safer streets.
