The City of San Juan Bautista is asking all residents and businesses to immediately reduce water use while Municipal Well No. 5 remains temporarily out of service for repairs.

Although water service remains available, the City is currently operating with reduced water production capacity and is relying on its remaining operational well. Conserving water now is essential to maintaining reliable service, preserving emergency reserves, and ensuring adequate water supplies for fire protection.

Residents and businesses are asked to:

  • Refrain from watering lawns, gardens, and landscaping.
  • Avoid non-essential vehicle washing.
  • Do not hose down driveways, sidewalks, patios, or other hard surfaces.
  • Run dishwashers and washing machines only with full loads.
  • Repair leaks promptly.
  • Minimize all non-essential water use.

City staff is working diligently with specialized contractors to restore Well No. 5 as quickly as possible. At this time, water service remains available, and there are no known water quality concerns.

The City appreciates the community’s cooperation and will continue to provide updates as repairs progress.
