It’s been a long time coming, but, we’re finally Super Bowl bound! It sure is going to be a good Super Bowl this year, two of my favorite teams, the Broncos of course being my favorite.  I was born and raised in Denver, so my blood bleeds orange, but I sort of became a Seahawks fan by default after Sierra moved up to Washington.  Needless to say, I will be rooting Peyton Manning and the Broncos on for a Superbowl Victory this year.  Brody, Caleb Johnson and Taylor Hurley still have some squares left in their Super Bowl Pool Fundraiser for their high school rodeo district. Contact either one of the kids to get your square as they will probably go fast now that we have our two contenders.

Speaking of high school rodeo, The Hurley Family, Mark and Caleb Johnson and Brody Sans spent last weekend in Coalinga at another multi district high school rodeo.  The kids competed against other kids from as far as Bakersfield and Oakdale as well as from the Central Coast and Bay Area. Taylor, Caleb and Brody all did great in each of their events and are anxiously awaiting their next rodeo that will be held right here in King City February 7-9.  If you’d like to take in some good rodeo action, be sure to mark your calendars for that date.

Colleen Sabin is starting to prepare for her wedding this year. Â She and some of her bridesmaids spent last Friday down in Paso Robles dress shopping for her big day. Â Sharing the day with her were Kasey Hurley and Jessika Willoughby. Â Saturday afternoon, Colleen, fiance Dan and Jessika headed over to Coalinga to watch the high school rodeo.
Â
John Wooster branded some calves last Friday at the Crown W Ranch. Â Once again, the dry weather was a big topic of conversation there. Â It’s just way too dry, dusty and warm for calf branding season. Â We can only continue to hope and pray for rain this year. Â Some of those helping John out brand included John Nino, Wyatt Duncan, John, JW an Boo Brewen, Kenny and Casey Sabin and me, Todd and Brody.
Â
Candace Brewen and her girls spent last weekend at Candace’s family’s working with their fair steers. It’s hard believe that fair time is right around the corner. Â

Birthday wishes go out to Buddy Sans, who celebrated his 19th birthday last Saturday, and to Sami Jo Johnsen, who celebrated on Monday the 20th.
