San Benito GIVES is about our local nonprofits and the many ways they serve

For 24 hours on Tuesday, May 15, San Benito County residents have a chance to show community spirit and support the nonprofits that serve county residents. San Benito GIVES is more about a joint community effort and getting involved to improve the community than on large donations. It’s focused on individual donors contributing on whatever level they can from $10 on up. It is the only day set aside each year for us to focus on building a better, more supportive community. The San Benito GIVES site includes nonprofits like BenitoLink that are focused on its citizens to nonprofits that aim to address individual needs. BenitoLink is taking part in San Benito GIVES for the third year in a row. 

This year, the Community Foundation for San Benito County has a new partner, Monterey Peninsula Foundation. Together they will offer special incentive prizes for donations made on May 15. The San Benito GIVES webpage will accept your donation until midnight May 15. One of the keys to a successful campaign is the energy brought by community members representing different nonprofits. Without your involvement, your favorite nonprofit may not be eligible for the special offers. 

For the first time, Monterey Peninsula Foundation is giving San Benito GIVES a boost with $10,000 in prize money. There will also be $27,000 in matching funds and special gifts.

It will come to a close at 11:59 pm, one minute before midnight May 15.
