Gabilan Chapter Kinship Center is pleased to announce its scholarship recipients for 2018 and its upcoming food and wine tasting fundraiser Saturday, Sept. 8.
The recipients are:
- Toni Rodriguez-Sanchez, who will attend Fresno State
- Nina Jorgensen, who will attend U.C. Davis
- Rolando Pablo Lorenzo, who will attend Gavilan College
- Â Erica Leung, a past recipient who is a senior at University of Oregon
Each of these students has demonstrated academic excellence, community involvement, leadership and integrity. Each of them is also a foster or adopted youth from San Benito County. This is the most amount of scholarships that Gabilan Chapter Kinship Center has ever awarded in a single year, and each recipient is exemplary.
The scholarships are funded in part through the annual Gabilan Chapter Kinship Center Wine and Food Tasting Event, coming up this weekend on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Paicines Ranch. In its 62nd year, it is the oldest wine tasting event in California. This year will feature 30 local restaurants, 30 regional wineries, a live and silent auction and a wine raffle.
Tickets are available at Postal Graphics and San Benito Bene for $70, or online at www.gabilankinship.org.
