Launching TUESDAY, April 1, The Healthy San Benito Dashboard will be a live, real-time data bank of demographics and statistics related to San Benito County. The site will be maintained by the nationally-recognized Healthy Communities Institute and embedded in BenitoLink.com on its Resources Page:https://benitolinkcom.wpengine.com/community-dashboard.

Initial funding for the site of $30,000 comes from a generous grant from Gavilan College and Vision San Benito County. Maintaining the site after April 2015 will cost approximately $20,000 annually. We hope local businesses, non-profits, governments and private citizens will see the value of the dashboard and continue to fund it through a collaborative effort.

The Dashboard will measure more than 100 indicators of community health including diseases, socio-economic data, recreation opportunities and high school graduation rates. The three main goals of the Dashboard will be to:

1. Present relevant, local data central to increasing community benefit and environmental sustainability is making current data understandable. The Dashboard will provide easy access to visually understandable data that informs stakeholders, policy makers and residents alike about the current health and quality of life San Benito County.

2. Establish connections: We will help to connect community members with experts and resources, facilitating collaboration amongst residents, community organizations, and policy makers.

3. Deploy solutions: We will provide a vast database of promising and best practices and community level interventions that have been tried across the world.
