Information provided by the Hollister United Methodist Church.
The Hollister United Methodist Church recently launched its Historic Church Capital Campaign to fund the restoration of their downtown church at 521 Monterey Street to its original structural integrity and beauty. Plans for restoration include the cleaning, re-grouting, and reinforcing of the brick facing; repairing the roof; replacing the aged lexan protecting the exterior of the exquisite stained-glass windows; and funding the ongoing maintenance of the only pipe organ in San Benito County.
The Hollister United Methodist Church was founded in 1869 and celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. Part of that celebration includes restoring the church structure to a place of architectural beauty in downtown Hollister.Â

This project is funded in part by a Community Matching Impact Grant from the Community Foundation for San Benito County.
