The Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Young Women In Science program is looking for girls who are excited about science and the ocean. Young Women in Science is a bi-lingual, week-long summer day-camp just for girls. Participants have the opportunity to be involved in science, the ocean, and conservation. During camp, they will explore ocean habitats as marine biologist by participating in activities such as surface scuba diving and kayaking through the Elkhorn Slough. Girls who will be in the 7th or 8th grade during the 2013-2014 school year are eligible.
This year, two camp sessions are offered for first year participants; July 15 – July 19 or July 29 – August 2 (students attend one week or the other, but not both weeks). Fee for this program is $200. Need-based scholarships are available and can be requested upon acceptance into the program.
