The opening day of the new Pinnacle Hills Golf Course — formerly Bolado Park Golf course — took place Friday, March 13, which is ahead of schedule. According to Dan Bacci, vice president of golf operations for Sierra Golf Management, “the golf course is progressing nicely so we decided to push up the opening date just a bit."
Bacci mentioned that all greens, tees and collars have been over-seeded, the greens have been aerified, equipment has been added, new carts are being delivered, new items are being added to the menu and extensive repair to the irrigation system will be an ongoing process.
“We really want to focus on being not only a value golf course but a quality golf course," he said. “We feel that Pinnacle Hills offers a really good layout in an unbelievable setting, it is just perfect for couples or families as well as beginning or seasoned players."
Bacci said rates will revolve around a $9 theme, making it an affordable daily fee venue and that Pinnacle Hills will offer one of Sierra Golf Management’s most popular items, “The Golf Revolution," a membership program where a golfer can purchase their membership at any of the company's participating facilities and play any of those for no fee, "which really enhances the value of our membership," Bacci said.
The former Bolado Park Golf Course has been on the golf scene in San Benito County since 1946. Sierra Golf recently signed a long-term lease with the 33rd District Agricultural Association, which operates Bolado Park Fairgrounds and Bolado Park Event Center. Sierra Golf operates 11 golf courses in California.
