From early on in elementary school, David Werolin, III, set a goal that he would never miss a day of school. As the end of his senior year at San Benito High School approaches, David is on the doorstep of achieving that goal.

This week, Werolin was recognized at the school’s annual perfect attendance ceremony, not only having perfect attendance for his senior year of high school, but also for not missing a single day during all four years of high school. The school announced that 445 students achieved semester or yearlong perfect attendance for the 2014-2015 school year, including 12 seniors who did not miss a day of school for four years.

While this is an achievement shared by other students and their proud parents and family members, Werolin was also honored for never having missed a day of school from his first day of kindergarten at Ladd Lane Elementary School, through middle school at Rancho San Justo, and his four years at SBHS.

Not only has Werolin never missed a day of school, but other than early dismissal due to playing for the high school water polo and baseball teams, he has never even missed a class.

Congratulations to David for setting this ambitious goal and achieving it and to all of the other students that have shared the same commitment to making it to school every day.

Now let’s see if he can maintain his streak of perfect attendance through college.
