Volunteer with the Amah Mutsun Land Trust!
Join the Amah Mutsun Land Trust for a day tending the Mutsun gardens at San Juan Bautista State Park on Sunday, June 25th from 10:30 to 2:30. The Mutsun gardens were designed by the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band as educational tools that demonstrate native plants used as food, medicine, and materials for the Mutsun people, and serve as a visual reminder that the Amah Mutsun are still here and continue to value and maintain their ethnobotanical traditions. The gardens are also a material source for tribal members who wish to harvest and use culturally significant plants.
Volunteers play a huge role every month in helping the Mutsun gardens thrive, and the Amah Mutsun Land Trust and Amah Mutsun Tribal Band are grateful for your support.
No experience is necessary to join us. Gloves and tools are provided but feel free to bring your own gloves or small garden tools if you have them. You should also bring the food and water you will need for the day, and wear clothing that will keep you comfortable outdoors and that you don’t mind getting dirty.
If you would like to attend or would like some additional information about the event, please send inquiries or RSVP by emailing Jay Scherf at jscherf@amahmutsun.org.
