At San Benito High School there are many clubs available for any student to join, but the biggest one on campus is Circle of Friends, which pairs Life Skills and “mainstream” students to encourage friendships.

Michelle Olivera, a junior and member of the club, said it brings together unlikely friends as well as making everyone feel like they belong.

Circle of Friends has a big impact on the school and that’s why so many people are involved. Melina Perez, a junior and member of the club, had said she enjoys being able to work with the Life Skills students. One of the Life Skills members, Sebastian said, “It’s nice getting to make new friends each and every day. It makes me happy.”

The club is estimated to have more than 200 students participating this year. The club is growing every year and making a difference on the campus

“I love seeing my friends.” said Mikey, a Life Skills student. He had said he loves “breaking it down” and showing off his dance moves to his friends.

Perez noted, “Circle of Friends joins everyone together and makes the school a safer and better place to be.”

It’s never too late to join, so interested students should visit Cassandra Guerrero in Room 234.
