Outdoor Photography: Get great shots with natural light!

In this half-day workshop, professional photographer Jim McDonald will share expert tips for taking beautiful photos with only natural light. Family photos? Nature shots? Sporting events? Jim can help you take advantage of nature’s free light source: the sun! You’ll get hands-on practice, with expert coaching from Jim and feedback from other workshop participants. (No past experience needed. Beginners welcome.)
Jim McDonald is a professional photographer with over 35 years of experience in weddings, portraiture, commercial photography, and photojournalism – including freelance work with the Gilroy Dispatch and other local publications. For more than three decades, Jim was as a teacher and principal in the Morgan Hill School District; he currently teaches Advanced Commercial Photography and Advanced Multimedia at Ann Sobrato High School in Morgan Hill. Fun fact: Jim attended – and took photos – at the very first Gilroy Garlic Festival! More about Jim here.
