About the presenter: Dr. Betty Lou Leaver, who earned her PhD from Pushkin Institute in Moscow, has made more the 30 trips to the Soviet Union and Russia, assisting both the US government (NASA, US Department of Education, US Department of State) and the Russian Ministry of Education in various projects related to linguistics and education. Her most recent trip, fall 2018, took her to Yakutia in northern Siberia and to Russian Far East at the behest of the US Department of State.
