San Benito County Chamber of Commerce: Wreaths Across America

Remember the fallen.

Location: Live stream on Chamber of Commerce Facebook from Calvary Cemetery.

This gathering of volunteers and patriots takes place in local and national cemeteries in all 50 states – most recently at more than 2,000 participating locations – as part of National Wreaths Across America Day. In 2019, approximately 2.2 million veteran wreaths were placed on headstones at 2,158 participating locations around the country in honor of the service and sacrifices made for our freedoms, with each name said out loud. The Chamber would appreciate community support in honoring our Veterans by sponsoring live wreaths to be placed on headstones in December for Wreaths Across America Day as we have done for the past 5 years. It is the Chamber’s goal to purchase a wreath for all SBC Veterans. We are partnering with the VFW to ensure we reach our goal of 500 live wreaths; one for each SBC Veteran. To reach our goal, we need our community’s support. Due to COVID-19 many community members have been financially impacted and have been unable to donate this year. We humbly as if you would you be willing to donate towards purchasing wreaths to honor SBC Veterans?

Due to COVID-19, we will not be able to have a community gathering at Calvary Cemetery as we have done in past years. Our local VFW will be placing the wreaths on our behalf. We will be coordinating with a local videographer to document this occasion so that we may share this with our community that wishes to be able to participate in honoring our veterans, saying their name out loud and placing a live wreath on their headstone.

Wreaths are $15.00 each.
