Sustainable Fashion Show and Fundraiser

September 9, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

A free event offering a green counterpoint to New York Fashion Week (taking place Sept 8-12)

Brown bag lunch and a solutions-based presentation on textile waste and the myriad of alternatives we can choose every time we get dressed. Shana McCracken will show a sampling from her collection of fashions made from salvaged materials that might otherwise go to landfill.
Why:

Textile waste is a serious problem locally and around the globe. Here in San Benito County textiles were identified in 2021 as one of the top contaminants in our recycling stream. The State of California has also identified textiles as a target material for waste prevention, reuse and recycling.

Net proceeds will benefit Fashion Revolution (fashionrevolution.org).

Who:Ā
Anyone interested in fashion, sustainability, and the intersection between the two
Registration encouraged. Seating is very limited.
