The Days of Wine & Rozas Wine Tasting & Silent Auction and Rose Lecture & Tours is being held Saturday, May 18 featuring the historic roses of San Juan Bautista, followed by a wine tasting and silent auction in hip, historic San Juan Bautista at 18th Barrel Tasting Room.

All about Roses Lecture

1 p.m. – 2 p.m.

$10 per person, all ages indoor event at the Historic Plaza Hotel, Second & Mariposa streets. A colorful and informative presentation on roses, including pests, pruning and propagation. Q & A session with our master gardener. Sodas and water available for purchase on site. Free goodie bag and event badge included.

Old Growth Rose Tour

2 p.m. – 3:25 p.m.

$18 per person, all ages. Wear comfortable shoes. Outdoor guided walking tour of approximately three blocks. Meet at the Historic Plaza Hotel, Second & Mariposa streets. From bushes to vines and climbers to hedges, meet the experts who will guide you on this walking tour through the State Park and Mission gardens, exploring the history, worldwide origins, and artistic symbolism of our vintage blooms. Q & A along the way. Free goodie bag and event badge included.

The Days of Wine & Rozas Reception and Silent Auction

3:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

$35 per person, age 21 and over only.

Come to the 18th Barrel Tasting Room, 322 Third Street @ Polk. Outdoor open air event, with ample seating. Mingle and munch with fellow wine and rose enthusiasts at our special fundraising event. Includes wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres catered by a local five-star Chef, and live music on the outdoor patio by classical guitarist Bruce Gilsenan. Souvenir Wine tasting glass and event badge included. Vertigo Coffee will also be served.

As you taste our wines, enjoy the special silent auction, featuring rose, grape, wine and wine related items to tempt your bidding. Silent auction items include:

Help fund local nonprofit Rozas House Org., Inc. of San Juan Bautista which is a nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and protection of our early California history, music and culture. The organization is the guiding force for the San Juan Bautista Historic Walking Trail which highlights San Juan Bautista’s Downtown Third Street Historic District and surrounding historic buildings of the City with a map brochure, site plaques, downtown map kiosk and a website detailing the history of these fantastic historic structures.
