UC Master Gardeners Native Plant Bootcamp

Where: Rancho Cielo Youth Campus 710 Old Stage Rd. Salinas.

Why: Discover how to create beautiful, low-maintenance landscapes with California Native Plants.

Join us for our 2nd Annual Native Plant Boot Camp at the beautiful Rancho Cielo Youth Campus in Salinas. Native Plant Boot Camp is a free community event featuring workshops, demonstrations, hands-on activities, educational booths, and plant sales. Grab lunch from one of our food trucks, connect with fellow gardeners and local organizations, and discover new ways to create beautiful, sustainable gardens that support pollinators, wildlife and our local environment.

There will be several workshops to choose from including Fire-wise Gardening, Creating Habitats with Native Plants, Year-Round Color with Native Plants and Replacing your Lawn with Native Plants. Interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities feature pruning, irrigation as well as creating with natives.

Please join UC Master Gardeners of Monterey and Santa Cruz Counties on August 1st for our Native Plant Bootcamp at the beautiful Rancho Cielo Youth Campus. This free community event is a unique opportunity to connect with and learn from local organizations, including the Monterey Audubon Society, Prescribed Burn Association, Big Sur Land Trust, and California Native Plant Society. Since you’ll be spending much of the day outdoors, don’t forget your hat, water bottle, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes. We encourage you to arrive early, as workshops begin promptly at 10:00 a.m.
