Wild Farm Alliance On-Farm Habitat Restoration Field Tour
October 15, 2014

Join Wild Farm Alliance for one or both of two field tours showcasing on-farm habitat restoration projects funded by the California Wildlife Conservation Board. Tour the habitat restoration sites and learn how the projects benefit the farms and the wild through conversations with the farmers, Wild Farm Alliance, Community Alliance with Family Farmers, Xerces Society and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
Field Tour 1: Riparian Restoration Along Tres Pinos Creek on Hain Ranch, 608 Bolado Road, Tres Pinos, CA. Tour streamside habitat restoration sites planted to stabilize the stream bank, increase plant biodiversity and provide habitat for wildlife on a walnut orchard/pastured poultry operation. Learn about pollinators, as well as native plant installation, irrigation and maintenance issues. See archived BenitoLink feature article for more information and photos of this project: https://benitolinkcom.wpengine.com/hain-ranch-streamside-planting-benefits-farm-and-wildlife.
