Natural Science Discovery Camp

Youth Camp to Monterey Bay for San Juan Bautista PickUp

For over 20 years, Ventana Wildlife Society has provided meaningful outdoor experiences to youth from all over - with half of programming free to underserved youth. New this year, our Discovery Camp comes to San Juan Bautista! This week-long day camp (8am-4pm) with one overnight camp out (Thursday 8am - Friday 12 noon) is an exciting nature camp for ages 8-12 that focuses on the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Join us for tide-pooling, swimming, hiking, a whale watch, a camp out at Jacks Peak in Monterey and more!

Outrageous Ocean Odyssey: July 18-22 - pick up at The Alameda Park, San Juan Bautista
This exciting week gives youth the opportunity to explore different environments within the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary, including tide pools, sandy beach, rocky coastline, and the open ocean. We look at the sandy shoreline and rocky tide pools, discovering starfish, limpets, crabs, barnacles, sponges, and more. During a whale watch on the bay, youth get up close and personal with a variety of marine mammals, as well as numerous pelicans, cormorants, and gulls. The week culminates in a Thursday night camp out under the stars at Jacks Peak County Park overlooking the bay.

Scholarships are available and are provided by Vanderbilt CPAs. To register for the program, or to request a scholarship, please visit:
