National Weather Service is calling a freeze advisory Saturday starting at 1-9 a.m. Temperatures are expected to begin dropping Friday night into Saturday morning, with overnight lows in the 30s. The areas impacted by the low temperatures include North Bay Interior Mountains- North Bay Interior Valleys- East Bay Interior Valleys- Santa Clara Valley including San Jose- Northern Salinas Valley-Hollister Valley and Carmel Valley.
Outdoor activities can be dangerous and warning signs of exposure to cold include pale or blue skin tone and numbness. Extreme exposure to freezing temperatures can lead to hypothermia. Other symptoms to watch for are confusion, shivering and lowered heart rate. Keep pets warm, and inside if possible. Cold temperatures may require keeping plants covered.
