The Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley (HFSV) is offering a scholarship to Latino college juniors and seniors who are pursuing a college degree in a STEM-related field.
The Latinos in Technology initiative supports college students who are in need of financial support and indicate an interest in a summer internship with program investors or partners. The 2018 Silicon Valley Latino Report Card findings indicate only 4 percent of Latinos work in the high-tech industry in our region.
The Latinos in Technology Scholarship is available to students currently enrolled in college in the following counties: Alameda County, Contra Costa County, Marin County, Napa County, San Francisco County, San Mateo County, Santa Clara County, Santa Cruz County, Solano County, Sonoma County and Yolo County.
According to the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley, “This scholarship helps Latino students fuel a robust pipeline of Latino professionals in our region.”
The scholarship program also helps place scholars as candidates in internship programs with their investors or partners including Intel, Western Digital, KLA Tencor Foundation, and LAM Research.
