The city councils of San Benito County’s two largest cities — Hollister and San Juan Bautista — will hold special meetings on Thursday, May 14 to discuss proposed budgets for the 2015-16 fiscal year.
In Hollister, the city council will meet at 5 p.m. at City Hall (375 Fifth St.) to review the proposed budgets for the following departments:
- police department, including animal control
- fire department
- development services, including planning, housing, redevelopment, engineering
- administrative services, including human resources and finance
- city council, city clerk and treasurer
- city manager and information technology
- airport, including code enforcement and risk management
- community services, including streets, fleet, recreation, parks, utilities and the Veterans Memorial Building
The San Juan Bautista meeting will start at 6 p.m. at city hall, 311 Second St. and will begin with a public comment period followed by review, consideration and direction to staff regarding the draft budget, which will be considered for final approval at a later meeting.
