Caltrans will start a highway safety project on US 101 near Prunedale on Monday, June 2, 2025. The project area runs from just north of Crazy Horse Canyon Road to Dunbarton Road. The project is expected to finish by December 31, 2025.
This project will improve drainage, replace concrete barriers between traffic lanes, and install new guardrails. The new guardrails are designed to enhance safety by better absorbing impacts during collisions.
To minimize traffic delays, work will be conducted overnight:
- Sunday through Friday: 7:00 p.m. to 5:00Â a.m.
- Friday through Monday: 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
At least one lane in each direction will remain open during construction. No full road closures are planned. Travelers may experience delays of up to 15 minutes and are advised to allow extra time for travel.
This Capital Preventive Maintenance project is part of Caltrans’ commitment to extending the life of the state highway system and improving travel safety and reliability.
