The Safe Kids California San Benito Partners announces the 23rd annual Kids at the Park event, scheduled for Wednesday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dunne Park in Hollister.
Kids at the Park is a celebration that children look forward to annually that promotes overall healthy living. The event also brings together families to raise awareness on preventable childhood injuries. During the event, kids will learn about the many resources available in San Benito County to keep them healthy, such as healthy eating, physical activities, bicycling safely, and much more.
Children who ride their bicycle to the event and that are accompanied by an adult, may receive a free helmet fitting sponsored by COG and Specialized Bicycles, bicycle repair sponsored by Shifty Cycles, and can register their bicycle at the Hollister Fire Department booth. Children will also learn how to safely maneuver their bicycle at the Safe Moves City managed by the California Highway Patrol. Free valet parking will be available and sponsored by the Kidz Crew and Social Vocational Services.
Kids at the Park is sponsored by the Safe Kids California San Benito Partners whose goal is to prevent unintentional childhood injuries through the collaborative efforts of community agencies to provide education and public awareness of the leading causes of injuries.Â
The Safe Kids California San Benito Partners member agencies include: Council of San Benito County Governments, California Highway Patrol (Hollister/Gilroy area), First Five San Benito County, San Benito County Department of Public Health, R.E.A.C.H, City of Hollister Fire Department, Hollister Parks and Recreation Department, Hollister Police Department, San Benito County Health and Human Services Department and the Hollister Youth Alliance.
