Well-known Hollister native Kirk Tognazzini passed away Monday, June 20, 2016. He was 68.
According to an obituary notice posted by Grunnagle-Ament-Nelson Family Funeral Home and Crematory, Tognazzini attended Sacred Heart School and San Benito High School. He worked at a local cannery and had a landscape service. An avid Giants and 49ers fan, he was a dedicated community member, always participating in the Holte Holiday Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for those in need. He also volunteered at Hazel Hawkins Hospital and the Community Food Bank and was a lifelong worker at the annual Portuguese celebration.
He is survived by his brother, Mark Tognazzini, and four nephews, Matthew and Christopher Tognazzini; and Todd and Eric Bengtson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Jane Tognazzini; his brother, Eric, his sisters Leilani and Dorothy Bengtson, and his niece, Melissa Besseling.
