Rose Marie Weatherly passed away at her Hollister residence on October 27, 2020 at the age of 86 years.
Rose Marie Weatherly, known to most as Nana, a longtime resident of San Benito County, passed away in her Hollister home on October 7, 2020 at the age of 86.
Rose was born the seventh of ten children in Miller, South Dakota on June 29, 1934. The same year the family started their move to California to escape the Dust Bowl in the Midwest. Rose held many different jobs throughout her life; she was not a stranger to hard work.
She retired after many years of public service from the Hollister School District. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling, crocheting and family. Nana was the “glue” to her family, biological and extended. She leaves a legacy of unfailing love among all she considered family.
Rose is survived by her spouse Daniel J. Weatherly. She is also survived by Debra (Leandro) Villalon, Yvonne (Michael) Maheu, Karen Carrillo, Janette Cuneo, Cheryl Carrillo, and Kenneth (Brenda) Weatherly; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren (one more on the way), her brother Howard Bawdon and multiple nieces and nephews. There will be no formal service.
The family will host a celebration of life on what would been her 87th birthday next year.
