Drivers traveling through the US 101 / SR 25 Interchange in Gilroy should plan for an overnight lane closure later this month due to ongoing construction work.

Location:

  • Southbound US 101
  • #1 (left/fast) lane
  • Near the US 101 / SR 25 Interchange

Date & Time:

  • Thursday night, January 29, 2026
  • 7:00 PM – 4:00 AM (overnight)

What’s Happening:

Crews will be performing median construction work as part of VTA’s US 101 / SR 25 Interchange Project. Work is scheduled overnight to reduce impacts on daytime traffic.

What Drivers Should Expect:

  • Reduced lanes on southbound US 101
  • Possible delays during overnight hours
  • Construction crews and equipment are present in the median

Reminders:

Effective as of January 13, 2026, the northbound US 101 on-ramp and off-ramp at SR 25 shifted to a new alignment. The new ramp configuration connects to SR 25 at a signalized intersection. Motorists should expect changes in traffic patterns and allow extra travel time while adjusting to the new alignment.

The new signalized intersection at SR 25 will be activated in the first part of February 2026.

Please slow down, follow posted signage, and watch for construction workers. Allow extra travel time if passing through the area overnight.
