According Hollister Police Department’s Facebook page on Saturday, July 19, 2025, officers were dispatched to the Hollister Municipal Airport at 60 Airport Drive for a report of a two-aircraft collision with one of the planes on fire. Officers responded to the airport and found a single plane on the runway with significant damage. Members of the airport community, along with Hollister Fire Department firefighters extinguished the fire within minutes.

The Hollister Fire Department and American Medical Response (AMR) medics treated injuries sustained by one of the pilots. The pilot was then transported to Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital for further medical treatment. Officers spoke with witnesses on-scene and located the second pilot and plane that were involved in the crash. The second pilot did not suffer any injuries and only minor damage to the plane was noted. Officers documented the information obtained for local reporting purposes and spoke with airport staff.  The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was contacted and will be responding to conduct a full investigation.

Sources told BenitoLink that one plane was ascending in take off as one was descending when they collided.
