In San Benito County, seven public offices are up for election in addition to a local recall, state assembly, state governor and congress.
The deadline to file for candidacy was March 6 at 5 p.m.
There were two races in which the incumbent was not challenged: San Benito County Assessor (Tom Slavich) and San Benito County Treasurer-Tax Collector (Melinda Casillas).
The following candidates qualified to be on the ballot for the June 2 election.
Chief Deputy Clerk-Recorder-Elections Ana De Castro Maquiz said candidates who did not qualify to be on the ballot can still run for office as a write-in. The process to qualify as a write-in candidate starts April 6 through May 19.
The write-in candidates don’t appear on the ballot but voters can write the candidates’ name the ballot.
