The 12 Days of Giving* is a unique and impactful year-end giving campaign supporting safety-net organizations providing direct support to those in need in our community. This collaborative effort is comprised of CASA of San Benito County, Chamberlain’s Children Center, Community FoodBank, Emmaus House and Sun Street Centers.

CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates, is dedicated to ensuring foster children from our community receive advocacy, support, and resources, and through the Holiday Project, receive essential needs items, as well as gifts to open during the holidays. The 12 Days of Giving couldn't come at a more crucial time: monetary donations made to CASA through the 12 Days of Giving campaign are matched by generous partners and business sponsors, and assist with the Holiday Project, as well as children’s needs throughout the year.

Since 2008, CASA has hosted its annual Holiday Project, which exists to help fill a gap and provide between 75 to 120+ foster children ages 0 – 21 with essential needs items such as winter coats, shoes, socks, and undergarments, as well as gifts such as books, games, toys or gift cards.

“Being a foster child tends to have a stigma attached, but the reality is, these are typical children, with hopes and dreams who deserve a sense of normalcy,” said CASA Executive Director Esther Curtice. “Through the generosity of our community, we are able to show foster children we care, and haven’t forgotten about them during this special time of the year.”

Curtice continued: “It really does take a village… each and every foster child we assist is from San Benito County; these are our kids and most won’t be home to celebrate the holidays. We are striving to ensure they all have gifts to open during the holidays.”

The 12 Days of Giving Campaign will kick off on December 1 and conclude December 12. To learn more about the CASA Holiday Project and 12 Days of Giving, please visit casasanbenito.org or call us at (831) 637-4992.
