This steadfast partnership is now in its eighth year of working together to change local lives for the better. Through our collective effort, money raised through support and sponsorship allow for your donor dollars to be matched, that means doubling your investment into your community. Partnering organizations include CASA of San Benito County, Chamberlain’s Children Center, Community Food Bank, Emmaus House and Sun Street Centers.
Those dollars are such a gift to Sun Street Centers’ state-licensed recovery program located in downtown Hollister. This program provides a supportive environment for women and women with small children seeking a life free from the devastating effects of drug and alcohol addiction. Certified counselors and recovery participants incorporate the principles of Social Model recovery, which utilize a peer-oriented, mutual help system that views the participant as a student, not a patient. Residents attend 12-step meetings, get a sponsor and take personal responsibility for their own recovery. The lives and opportunities we are shaping in such a short amount of time speaks to the quality and continuity of care we provide here at Sun Street Centers.
From Dec. 1 to Dec. 12, the 12 Days of Giving turns into a community-wide nonprofit fundraising effort assisting residents during the holiday season and beyond. This is a perfect opportunity for our caring community to come together and help those in need. Collectively we can turn 12 Days of Giving into 365 days of giving. All contributions received from Dec.1 to Dec. 12 are matched by our gracious partners, sponsors and supporters who have made a commitment to our community to make a difference.
