Saturday evening, sponsors and nonprofits gathered to celebrate the success of the first annual 12 Days of Giving in San Benito County. This special new program is designed to make the holidays brighter for many local families who are in need of basic human services. The Community Foundation for San Benito County along with its corporate partners of Tiffany Ford, Teknova, Granite Rock and Hazel Hawkins Hospital will match all other monetary gifts from businesses and individuals up to $20,000. In addition to cash, donations of food, clothing and new toys are also being accepted. All monetary gifts will be distributed equally among six local nonprofits including the Community Food Bank, Emmaus House, Salvation Army, CASA, Homeless Shelter and Chamberlains Children Center. Food, clothing and unwrapped toys will be also be distributed amount the nonprofits as appropriate.
As of this celebration over $25,000 had been raised. Donations will continue to be accepted thru the end of December. See the Community Foundation website (www.cffsbc.org) for further details.
