2014 Annual County National Library Week (NLW)
Events for 2014 National Library Week and the Library’s 97th Anniversary
Several exciting family events will by hosted by the County Library during the 2014 National Library Week, April 14 -18, to celebrate its 97th Anniversary. On Monday April 14th, Customer Appreciation Day will be launched with an Anniversary Cake served from 11:00am – 3:00pm. Also on Monday, door prizes and swag bags will be available to teens participating in a Youth Financial Literacy Workshop from 2:00pm – 2:45pm; this introductory workshop for teens is presented by Dreams & Visions and the Wells Fargo Bank. And a special program “Evening of the Stars” and Potluck from 6:00pm-8:00pm will honor our Volunteer of the Year on April 14th. On Tuesday, April 15, kids are invited to our featured film, Walt Disney’s “Frozen” with showings at 2:00pm & 5:00pm, as seating is limited. On Wednesday April 16th, a Mini-Techie Toybox Bar will be available for participants to play with IPads, IPhones & KindleFires from 2:00pm – 5:30pm, as library staff will assist requesters in downloading eBooks, and playing with IPad apps. Enjoy a Kid’s Fun Day on Thursday April 17th with children’s games and crafts; and win a free book by completing the Great Dewey Decimal Hunt! Finally, Author Talks on Friday April 18th, from 5:00pm – 7:00pm for book lovers to enjoy light refreshments, prizes and book discussions by local authors: Renette Torres, Widows Peek; and Werewolves of New Idria by John E. Chadwell, screenwriter. Please join us for these free festivities, sponsored by the San Benito County Library, 470 Fifth Street, Hollister; and Friends of the Library on our 97th Anniversary!
