2018 Election Forums coming Oct. 11 and Oct. 18

Our Election Forums are just around the corner! The free Forums will be held at San Benito High School Auditorium. Youth Alliance is joining BenitoLink and San Benito County Farm Bureau as hosts, offering English to Spanish translation and childcare.

BenitoLink, the San Benito County Farm Bureau and new forum partner, Youth Alliance will be jointly presenting the 2018 General Election Forums Oct. 11 and 18. Due to the large attendance at our last election forum, the October forums will be held at the San Benito High School Auditorium in Hollister.

San Benito County residents will have a chance to hear from General Election candidates and learn about the ballot measures at the free, public forums on Oct. 11 and Oct 18 starting promptly at 6:30 p.m. (both on Thursday evening) at SBHS Auditorium at 1220 Monterey St. in Hollister.

English to Spanish translation and Childcare

This fall, we are happy to announce that, due to the efforts of Youth Alliance, the forums will offer English to Spanish translation via headphones. Free childcare will also be available.

Two events, a week apart

There will be fewer races at the Oct. 11 Election Forum, but some races have several candidates and they will take longer.  Both evenings are expected to go from 6:30 p.m. sharp to approximately 8:45 p.m.

Last call for your community questions

BenitoLink, San Benito County Farm Bureau and Youth Alliance invite questions from the community. The last date BenitoLink will accept community questions is Tuesday, Oct. 2.

This fall, the forums will have the added benefit of input from Youth Alliance members providing youth related topics of concern.

Send your questions and ideas via email to BenitoLink Executive Director Leslie David at [email protected] .

No candidates will be given the questions in advance. Questions will be reviewed by a committee of BenitoLink, Farm Bureau and Youth Alliance team members.
