2019 Saddle Horse Show & Rodeo starts June 28

Western action packed weekend at Bolado Park Event Center.

Rodeo enthusiasts get your boots ready! The 2019 San Benito County  Saddle Horse Show and Rodeo kicks off this weekend starting Friday, June 28 and ending Sunday, June 30.

The San Benito County Saddle Horse Show and Rodeo began in 1929 as a weekend of fun and challenge for hard-working cowboys and ranch hands.

The 86th annual event offers family entertainment and free parking at the Bolado Park Event Center at 9000 Airline Highway in Tres Pinos.

Here is the schedule as follows:

Friday, June 28

  • 8:00 a.m. Class Eliminations (Free)
  • 10:00 a.m. Reining will begin after 10: AM (order is Non-Pro, then Open Reining)  (Free)
  • 3:00 p.m. Western Art and Tack Show (Free)
  • 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wine, Beer, Food, and Music
  • 7:00 p.m. Rodeo and Horse Show (Reserved Seating: Adults $10, Toddlers-11 years old $7)

Saturday, June 29

  • 9:30 a.m. Halter Horses in the Paddock area (Free)
  • 10:00 a.m. Cattle Sorting, Dally Team Roping and Mixed Ribbon Roping Slack Performance (Free)
  • 11:00 a.m. Western Art and Tack Show (Free)
  • 1:30 p.m. Rodeo and Horse Show (Reserved Seating: Adults $10, toddlers-11 years old $7)
  • 5 p.m. Cowboy Dinner BBQ and Lie Auction (Adults, $25; Kids, 6-12, $8; under 6, free)

Sunday, June 30

  • 8:00 a.m. Stock Horse Class Eliminations (Free)
  • 11:00 a.m. Western Art and Tack Show (Free)
  • 1:30 p.m. Rodeo and Horse Show (Reserved seating: Adults, $10, Toddlers-11 years old, $7)
