Hazel Hawkins Hospital staff, both living and undead, took to the parking lot behind the Women’s Center to celebrate Halloween. Each department chose a theme and entered into a Best Costume competition.
The group competition ended in a tie. The EDS department’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Information Technology’s Mario Brothers, won the day. Victoria Silva RN, who made off to Gilligan’s Island for the day, said the event was “fantastic.” She added that there was “great participation and a real moral boost” during this uncertain time for the hospital. Shona Avant, Director of Infectious Disease Prevention, added that Silva likes to “rock the boat”—pun totally intended.
Frankie Gallagher, the hospital’s Public Information Officer, said of the event, “There is much more going on here beyond the politics and ballot measures and so forth. It’s the people; it’s our employees. That’s what it’s really all about.”

The IT Department tied for 1st place.
