CASA of San Benito County is pleased to report that the Third Annual Cards For A Cause fundraiser was a success. On Saturday, May 10, many locals turned up to have a great evening out. This fun event featured a fully loaded BBQ dinner, raffle, live auction, wine heist and poker tournament; something for everyone. Local resident Matt Weir won the wine heist, taking home a wine refrigerator, wine, wine glasses plus two tours & tastings and the Texas Hold ‘Em tournament winners, Michael Bacon (1st place), Kathy Hunting (2nd place) and Mike Martin (3rd place) all took home trophies, bragging rights and gifts cards. Congratulations to all of the evening’s winners!
We are grateful for the continued support from the donors, sponsors and guests and their trust and belief in CASA to carry out our mission: to train and support community volunteers who advocate for abused and neglected children placed in foster care, upholding the children’s rights while pursuing a safe and permanent home.
As CASA continues through its first year as an independent nonprofit agency, this celebration of child advocacy in our community was that much more exciting. Proceeds from the fundraiser events provides advocacy for the foster children from San Benito County, giving them a powerful voice and a brighter future.
Thank you again to all who have partnered with CASA to make this an enjoyable and memorable event. We look forward to continuing to serve the needs of the foster children from San Benito County.
