The San Benito County Free Library has an urgent need for volunteer tutors for our Adult Literacy Program. We have a long list of learners just waiting for you!
Tutors provide weekly one-on-one tutoring in reading, writing and speaking English to learners 18 years of age and up. Sessions generally last about one hour. The only requirements are patience, sensitivity, good English language skills and a 6-month commitment to your assigned learner. No prior experience needed. Training, tutoring materials and support are provided by Literacy staff.
Becoming an adult literacy tutor is a fulfilling experience for anyone looking to serve their community!
