The movie “American Sniper” is based on the true story of Chris Kyle, who was born and raised in Texas in a religious and harsh family.

His father, Wayne Kyle, was a man who wanted his kids to be tough; Wayne didn’t want his children to be weak. He put Kyle into a position where he had to be the “sheep dog” in a world full of wolves and sheep. The wolves were the bullies, and the sheep were the kids being bullied.  Wayne put his kid in a position where he was the one to stop bullies.

Kyle grew up participating in rodeos and had a dream of being a famous cowboy, but that all changed after the terrorist attacks of 9-11. Soon after the attacks, Kyle joined the military, receiving sniper training and eventually becoming a Navy SEAL. He served four tours, and became known as “The Legend” for saving so many lives.

During his time in Iraq, he had to take many difficult shots at many targets, including kids, to save lives. When he returned home he was a different man; everything around him reminded him of the war. Through support groups, he got back to his normal self and decided to help other veterans, until one day, one of the veterans he was helping shot and killed him.

“American Sniper” was a great, emotional movie. This movie was incredibly accurate. Taking as many kill shots as he did, I felt bad for him. I would rate this movie a 9 out of 10.
