As San Benito County dries out and cleans up from a wet and windy storm that blew through Thursday, another system is set to arrive by Sunday night and last through Monday.
The National Weather Service says moderate rainfall amounts will occur across the Bay Area with some heavier totals in the coastal mountains. "With the very wet and saturated ground, some urban and small stream flooding is expected especially during and immediately after the time of the heaviest rainfall," the weather service said in a release. Rock and mud slides will be possible as well in areas that typically have concerns for those hazards. A rumble or two of thunder is lso possible south of the San Francisco Bay.
Up to an inch of rainfall is predicted from the coming storm, on the heels of the more than 3 inches that fell earlier this week, causing localized flooding, downed trees, power outages, and the Friday closure of Southside School when Southside Road was covered by a mudslide.
