The Anzar High School football team will host a car wash fundraiser Saturday at San Juan School, with all funds going toward basic and necessary costs such as equipment re-conditioning and game expenses. The San Juan Bautista football team is entering its seventh season.
The team must raise about $12,500 just for costs to cover equipment re-conditioning, transportation to away games, and basic needs for home games such as lighting and referee fees. The car wash fundraiser is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at San Juan School, 100 Nyland Drive, just off The Alameda in San Juan.
The team's players and coaches will wash cars for $10 donations, with all funds raised going toward those game and equipment costs. The team has been hard at work in practice since late July preparing for the upcoming season, which starts Sept. 1.
The community is encouraged to come out Saturday to support the local football team, which teaches these dedicated student-athletes important principles of teamwork, sportsmanship, goal setting, hard work and commitment.
