Application for CDBG Funds is Available

Services must be made available to low-income households of San Benito County.

Applications are intended for 501 3(C) non-profit organizations and not for profit agencies that operate within the County of San Benito. These agencies must be addressing and substantiating an area of community need.

The County of San Benito anticipates the State to release the Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) in January of 2014. Expected eligible activities under the NOFA may consist of:  public service programs; housing-new construction projects; housing acquisition and housing rehabilitation programs; community facility and public work projects and planning studies.  Economic development programs and projects are also eligible along with planning activities.  Eligible activities paid for with State CDBG funds must meet one or more of the three national objectives listed in CDBG federal statutes as follows:  benefit low income households or persons; elimination of slums and blight; or meeting urgent community development needs (a need from a state or federally declared disaster).

 CAB Application Release Date: November 1, 2013.

Interested organizations have the option to attend an informational Session on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 9 a.m. at 1111 San Felipe Road, Suite 108, Hollister, CA 95023. The intent of the required informational session is to review the eligible activities, the national objectives and the CAB Application.
