Hollister Police Investigate Armed Robbery
HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA– January 30, 2013 – Hollister
police officers responded to 211 Third Street, Hollister Super Market for an
armed robbery.
At about 6:00 am, Santa Cruz 911, received a 911 call of an armed robbery at
the store. Witnesses reported a masked male suspect armed with a handgun
entered the store before business hours. The suspect came through the front
door, which was unlocked for delivery drivers entering the business at that
time of the morning. The suspect approached an employee and pointed a handgun
demanding money. The employee gave the suspect money in a nearby safe and
cash register. The suspect then ran out of the front door of the store. Staff
members chased the suspect. The suspect then turned and threatened them with
his handgun. The suspect fled southbound on East Street.
The suspect was described as a male, between 5’0” and 5’02” feet tall
with a heavyset build. The suspect was observed loitering in the parking lot
moments prior, and was described as a Hispanic male with a black beard. The
suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, armed with a
silver handgun.
A BOL (Be On the Lookout) bulletin with the suspect description was issued to
surrounding law enforcement agencies. The suspect has not been located.
